Orelhinha's Gang
The Turma do Orelhinha (Little Ear Gang) began to be created in 1986 when Adeir Rampazzo decided to translate the “human inner self” into images and characters. The proposal was to give form to the invisible — feelings, conflicts, and emotional states — allowing them to be recognized, understood, and integrated into collective consciousness. By making visible what often remains abstract, the author seeks to broaden emotional perception and contribute to more conscious attitudes and behaviors.
Initially, the gang consisted of five characters: Orelhinha, Cosquinha, Big Boy, Smacky, and Paty. Each represented aspects and emotions present in the human universe. Orelhinha is the naive boy of the group, always ready to play and help his friends. Cosquinha, his faithful companion, is an adorable dog who dreams of being human and symbolizes frustration. Big Boy and Smacky form the couple of the group — with Smacky often overcome by jealousy and bothered by the presence of Paty, who is always flirting with Big Boy. Everything happens within the light and fun universe of games played by children around seven years old.
Over time, new characters emerged, expanding this emotional universe. Among them are Grudy, the needy boy who cannot live without company, and Mauka, the quarrelsome boy who, despite his tough appearance, reveals a huge heart.
Turma do Orelhinha began to be published as comic strips in over 20 newspapers in different Brazilian states, gradually gaining a loyal readership.
Its success also led to the licensing of various products, such as games, puzzles, beach pails, children’s socks, backpacks, social expression cards, chewing gum, and activity magazines, among others.
In 1992, during the São Paulo Book Biennial, the first Turma do Orelhinha comic strip magazine was launched, consolidating the characters' presence in the children's publishing world.
With the maturation of the concept of emotions, the website O Poder das Emoções (The Power of Emotions) later emerged, continuing the creative universe initiated with Turma do Orelhinha, expanding the proposal to address the emotional world of children through stories, characters, and educational activities.
